FNP 45 Holsters – Top Holsters To Fit Your FNP 45

FNP 45

fnp 45 holster

When choosing a FNP 45 holster, keep in mind that all guns differ when it comes to size, weight and functionality. These are some important aspects you need to consider.

Weapon Size and Weight

The FNP 45 has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.85 in (199 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 3.4.5 in (114 mm)
  • Weight: 132.4 oz (919 g)

You can see from the above that the FNP 45 would fall into the medium to large size category of handguns. Therefore, it is reasonably OK to conceal, with some imagination in the wardrobe department. It can be used in conjunction with a whole host of FNP 45 holster options, from shoulder, over the waistband (OWB), and inside the waistband (IWB) selections.

As these pistols are medium to large sized, concealment needs to be thought through. Your best options will like to be OWB and shoulder. Pocket are unlikely to conceal a weapon of this size. However, the ability to get to your pistol and fast draw is also important.

Shoulder options involve wearing a jacket for concealed carry, but a jacket will hamper the ease of draw and draw speed. Also, in warmer seasons or climates, concealing your weapon may become uncomfortable. The best FNP 45 holster options will likely be OWBs.

Below we look at 5 options that are available on Amazon. We look at the materials that they are made from, the comfort of how it is worn, how it fits the FNP 45 and how easy it is to draw your weapon from it.

FNH 45 Revolution Blade Tech OWB (with both Paddle and ASR Belt attachment)

This is a reasonably affordable FNP 45 holster option, which is made from molded high-density polymers. It is not Kydex, but the polymers are relatively strong. It has two retention screws, allowing you to fine tune your draw to your specific needs. To make your carry options even more flexible, it comes with the adjustable Sting Ray belt attachment and a paddle attachment to accommodate to your personal carry preference.

It does not have a locking mechanism like for example the Black Hawk Serpa carrier does, but it will keep your gun nice and snug in place by means of the positive lock trigger guard. One thing that is important to note, especially if you are a lefty, is that this is not an ambidextrous FNP 45 holster option. It is designed for right-handed use.

Overall users of this ave about how well this option draws, describing it as crisp and fast. Often with larger guns, like the FNP 45, the weight of the gun tends to make the gun tilt away from the body, which makes drawing the gun more difficult and carrying the gun a bit more uncomfortable. But this holster keeps the gun nice and tight to ensure a comfortable carry.

Some users did note that the paddle feels a bit flimsy and not as sturdy as a BlackHawk Serpa, however the paddle seems to hold well enough. As it is made from plastics, it will probably leave some wear marks on your weapon. Of course this can be buffed off, but if you are very particular about your gun, this might not be the best FNP 45 holster option for you.

This FNP 45 holster is made from 600 denier nylon with a soft Tri-Cot inner lining. It comes with a steel belt clip for secure attachment onto your belt, and as this belt can be moved, it suits left and right hand shooters. Concealment with this product is good as it is only 1/8 inches thick and therefore gives minimal printing.

There are concerns with this FNP 45 holster when it comes to durability, with some users having issues with the stitching. The main problem however is the steel clip. It’s very stiff, which makes it difficult to take off your belt or waistband. The clip itself can bend out of shape quite quickly. The stiff outer shell can also rub against you, so we would recommend wearing a t-shirt between the product and your skin. Fit for the FNP 45 is reasonable, however this is designed for a number of different makes and models, so don’t expect a glove-like fit. Retention is OK and draw is reasonable.

This leather choice comes from Desantis, who are well known for their carry options. It is designed to ride high and to be presented at an optimum draw angle. Its thumb break and exact molding, together with a tension device, allows for a secure and highly concealable carry.

It does come in different color options (black or tan) and you can also order it in a left-hand version if you are a lefty.

Users noted that this product rides a bit high, but is really comfortable and is a good option for everyday carry. So if you are looking for a quality leather choice at a reasonable price, which is also really comfortable, then this is a really good FNP 45 holster option for you.

M1SURPLUS Tactical Urban Gray Ambidextrous Modular MOLLE

If you need to carry your weapon in a tactical situation, then this ambidextrous Nylon choice from m1surplus is possibly the best FNP 45 holster option for you. With a grid of eyelets, as well as being supplied with tubes and bungee cords, this is designed to be extremely flexible in that it can be adjusted to fit almost any medium and full size pistols. It also allows you to carry a pistol with or without a tactical flashlight and/or laser. As we mentioned earlier, this is ambidextrous making it usable for both left-handed and right-handed use.

What is great about this product is that you can carry it on your tactical vest, as the it includes two removable MOLLE straps with snap-button enclosure for attaching to MOLLE webbing. Unfortunately all the extra tubing, straps etc makes this option a bit heavy. So if you need an everyday carry product that you can carry all day easily and comfortably on your belt, this FNP 45 holster is perhaps not the best option.

Gun carrier FNP FNS FN FNX 45 Pro Carry 7 Right Hand Outside The Waistband Black Leather

This FNP 45 holster option from Pro Carry is made from leather and designed to be carried as a outside the waistband choice. Users who have bought this raved about the good quality received for the price paid, as well as the comfortable carry it provides. Made from top grain leather and double stitched with bonded polyester thread, this holster can last you a really long time. For the price that it is currently retailing for, you will struggle to find a leather choice of similar quality for the price.

The only slight downside we could really identify is that this is only designed to be worn on a belt outside the waistband, which might be a bit annoying to some who may want some more carry options from carrier. However i,f you plan to carry a pistol the size of a FNP 45, you will probably have to carry the gun on a belt most of the time anyway.

There are some great FNP 45 holster options available today. So which FNP 45 holster would we choose if we were looking for a holster to fit the FNP 45? Let us recap the top options available:

The Revolution Blade Tech is an afforable option made from high density plastics. It offers great flexibility in how you want to carry by being adjustable as well as coming with belt and paddle attachments. Draw is really nice with this product, but if you are a lefty this is not for you.

The OUTBAGS OB-16S is a typical nylon option from Outbags. It is the cheapest FNP 45 holster option on our list and does not come with any fancy features, but it will get the job done of you just want a straight forward option for every day carry. However if you want a top quality product that will last a long time, this is perhaps not the best one for your needs.

The Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard option is a really good looking one and is made from leather. Users raved about how comfortable it is. If you want a everyday carry selection that does not cost too much, looks good…but also provides for good concealed carry if need, then this is a solid option.

The Tactical MOLLE from m1surplus is the ideal one if you want to carry your FNP 45 in a tactical fashion. It is designed to be very modular and fit most medium and full size pistols and also allow for tactical flashlights and lasers. However it is a heavy product that is not going to be ideal for everyday carry on your belt and is definitely not going to be good for concealed carry.

Which one would we choose?

As in most cases, the best FNP 45 holster will depend on your needs. If you want a cheap, staight forward choice then the Outbags option made from Nylon is going to be your best option. But if you want a “tacticool” product that you can attached to your tac vest, the MOLLE carrier from m1surplus will be your best option.

However, we are looking for a product that you can wear comfortably every day all day and that will not cost a fortune. For that purpose, we really like the Revolution Blade Tech and the Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard selection. The Desantis is really tempting because it is well made and looks great with the leather and double stitching. But ultimately if we had to give up our hard earned money, we would go with the Revolution Blade Tech. It is more affordable than the Desantis but still offers good quality, comfort and flexibility. As such we think the Revolution Blade Tech will offer the best value for our money from all the options discussed above.
