The Top FNX 40 Holster Options Available Today!

fnx 40 holster

Guns all differ from each other in size, weight and functionality. For that reason, there are a few key things we recommend you keep in mind when choosing a holster for your FNX 40.

Weapon Size and Weight

The FNX 40 has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.4 in (188 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 4 in (102 mm)
  • Width:1.55 in (39 mm)
  • Height: 5.45 in (138 mm)
  • Weight: 24.4 oz (692 g)

Keeping these measurements in mind, the FNX 40 is a medium to a large sized gun. That will make ankle and pocket holstering less than ideal for carrying this weapon. We would recommend looking at regular over the waistband (OWB), shoulder or even inside the waistband (IWB) sheath.

Weapon Use

The FNX 4o is designed to be used for self-defense. For self-defense carry your best FNX 40 options are going to be OWB or IWB. Most people who carry the FNX 40 prefer to keep their weapons concealed, so the best option would be an IWB holster that will keep your weapon concealed while still providing a secure and comfortable carry.

Shoulder holstering is a good option for concealed carry, however, it has the disadvantage that you will need to wear a jacket over it to keep it concealed. That is OK if you live in colder climates where wearing a jacket all the time is common…but of course, a jacket will also detract from your draw speed and ease.

Our Review of 5 FNX 40 Holsters

In the section below we do a detailed overview of 5 options that you can consider when you are looking for one option for your FNX 40.

FNH 9/40 Blade Tech Revolution OWB (with both Paddle and ASR Belt attachment)

Click on image to go to Amazon

Revolution holsters by Blade Tech have become very popular recently. Created to last a lifetime, they are molded from extremely tough polymers. This makes them able to resist high impact and is also stable in extreme temperatures. They can handle temperatures as low as -30F to as high as 300F, whilst retaining the same shape, performance, fit and feel.

This quality FNX 40 holster is IDPA approved and can be set into 3 different positions; straight drop, muzzle-forward, or FBI cant. It comes set in the straight drop position. It also comes with a 3 position adjustable sting ray (ASR) belt attachment as a bonus, which allows you to change the way you carry your pistol, from a paddle to a belt. There are 2 retention screws, which means you can adjust it to your draw and get the tension level just right. This molded FNX 40 holster will hold your pistol with complete security using the Positive Lock Trigger Guard. It’s the perfect FNX 40 holster for carrying your pistol, whether you are at the range, in your neighborhood or out in the field.

DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard FNX-40 Right Hand Black:

Click on image to go to Amazon

This FNX 40 holster is made of top quality leather and holds your pistol at an optimum draw angle. It sits rather high on your waist which gives very easy access. It’s quite a close fitting to the body so, despite it being designed to be worn outside the waistband, it can be worn quite easily under clothing and would not be difficult to conceal. Also, the slots in the belt allow you to adjust canting until it is just right for you. An adjustable tension screw helps make it feel snug without having to spend weeks breaking it in. It is a thumb break holster, so not designed for a quick draw.

One disadvantage it has, which happens with a lot of holsters, is that it is rather stiff when new. It would be tempting to use some kind of leather softener, oil or liquid. However, DeSantis discourage use of any emollients and, quite helpfully, do give instructions on how to break in it effectively. Another consideration is that this can be made to sit close to your body, but it does need a thick belt for it to do so. Also, unlike a lot of other of its kind, the Thumb Break Scabbard is not lined, which does not affect its usage, but some people do prefer lined options.

FN FNP FNX FNS 9 40 Leather Gun Holster LT RH IWB Black:

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is an ideal FNX 40 holster for those who rarely carry a gun and want functional and comfortable holstering. This is an inside the waist (IWB) holster, and with the FNX 40 being a rather large pistol, this option does well when it comes to comfort as well as being able to conceal the pistol.

It is made from American double stitched leather with extra reinforcement at the top to allow the pistol to be replaced back with ease. However, some people have felt that re-holstering can be problematic. This is a budget and, therefore, some people have mentioned that the stitching may not be the best. Still, whilst it may not be the fanciest of FNX 40 holsters, it is an ideal entry-level option.

Fobus Standard Holster RH Paddle PX4 Beretta PX4 Storm

Click on image to go to Amazon

This FNX 40 holster boasts that it was developed in Israel for the world’s military and special security services, and therefore has been proven in combat situations. Made of space age high-density plastics and injection molding, this case can resist the most severe climates and elements. It also offers a maintenance-free solution, as all it needs is soap and water to be cleaned, no need for oil. At a mere 2 ounces in weight, it is one of the lightest FNX 40 holsters, riding high above the waist, which means that it can easily be concealed under clothing.

A disadvantage to this one is the indent, designed to help keep the pistol from accidentally falling out, which hooks to the trigger guard when you contain your pistol. You may find your FNX 40 slide easily into it, but drawing it is another thing. The shape of this indent appears too deep for some people, which means the FNX 40 will not release from it without some considerable force applied to it. This means this RH Paddle PX4 Beretta PX4 Storm may be ideal for when you are simply carrying your pistol but don’t plan on using it. But on occasions when you are expecting to use it, such as at a range, this sheath may be rather annoying.

FN FNX 9/40 IWB Hybrid Holster with Adjustable Retention and Comfort Curve, SHTF Gear ACE-1 Gen 2

Click on image to go to Amazon

This hybrid leather and plastic FNX 40 holster is the perfect balance between comfort as well as being able to rapidly deploy the pistol. Its design is so that a user can effectively grip the gun while it is still in the case. This means that, as soon as the gun is out, it is ready to shoot.

FN FNX 9/40 IWB Hybrid features a substance called Kydex which creates a curve at the back. This allows it to fit snugly to the body, making it more comfortable to wear, as well as making it much easier to conceal under clothing. Like most holsters, it is necessary to make adjustments until it fits you just right.

However, add to the list of benefits, the premium full grain American leather, beveled edges, adjustable tension, and adjustable cant and carry height, then this is definitely one of the best FNX 40 holsters around.

The only real complaint with this option is that some people have found it a little loose for their FNX 40. It could do with the addition of some retention screws to keep the pistol secure.

Our Top FNX 40 Holster Choice

We had a good look at 5 great options. Let’s recap the top options available:

  • The Blade Tech Revolution option is made to last a long time using fancy molded polymers. It gives the user some versatile options for how you want to wear it, so you can adjust how it should sit or the way you want to carry it. We really like the Postive Lock Trigger Guard, which helps make sure your gun is not going to fall out unexpectedly.
  • The DeSantis Scabbard is made from high-quality leather, which looks really good! It is not ideal if you need to draw your fun quickly though, as the snug fit and Thumb Break Scabbard of this FNX 40 holster makes quick draws a challenge.
  • The Pro Carry LT is one of the more affordable FNX 40 holster options. It is also made from leather, but not as good looking as the DeSantis holster. Being a slightly cheaper option, the quality is not as high on this one as you would find on the Blade Tech or the DeSantis.
  • The Fobus Standard holster is another one of the more affordable FNX 40 holster options. It comes from Israel where it was designed for military and security services. Similar to the Blade Tech, the Fobus is made from fancy plastics and molding which should make this a pretty tough one (but a lot more affordable than the Blade Tech). However, the designed intent of this option makes drawing it quickly a bit challenging.
  • The hybrid holster from SHTF Gear is one of the more expensive FNX 40 holster options on our list, but you can see the quality that you get with that price. It is made from leather and Kydex which provides the benefits of each material to it. It sits nice and snug to your body, while designed in such a way that makes it really easy to grip and draw this gun.

So which one would we choose?

The answer is the DeSantis holster. It looks beautiful in the high quality leather! Yes it is not ideal if you need to draw your gun quickly, however if you are not in law enforcement or military service that should not be a huge issue.

We like how versatile it is in terms of being able to carry it concealed and comfortably. It is a little more expensive than the Pro Carry LT and the Fobus Standard, but we believe the value you get for the money justifies it.

We List The Top M&P 45 Holsters!

M&P 45 holster

When choosing an M&P 45 holster, points to consider are your pistol’s functionality, weight and size, as they will differ from one gun to another. The M&P 45 itself comes in 3 sizes (full, medium and compact), so keep the following in mind when purchasing an M&P 45 holster:

Weapon Size and Weight:

The M&P 45 full size has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.75 in (197 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 4.5 in (114 mm)
  • Width: 1.2 in (30 mm)
  • Height: 5.5 in (140 mm)
  • Weight: 29.6 oz (839 g)

The M&P 45 medium size has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.5 in (191 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 4 in (102 mm)
  • Width: 1.2 in (30 mm)
  • Height: 5.5 in (140 mm)
  • Weight: 27.7 oz (785 g)

The M&P 45 compact size has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.125 in (181 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 4 in (102 mm)
  • Width: 1.2 in (30 mm)
  • Height: 4.8 in (122 mm)
  • Weight: 26.2 oz (743 g)

From the above dimensions, you can see that the M&P 45 full and medium sizes can be classed as medium to large size pistols, whilst the compact can be classed as small to medium.

The compact is much more easier to conceal and users can choose a wide range of holster types, from pocket, ankle holsters and shoulder holsters, over the waistband (OWB) options, and inside the waistband (IWB). On the other hand, the medium and full size pistols would be very difficult to use with ankle and pocket ones, and it is best to choose IWB, OWB and shoulder selections.

Weapon use:

The M&P 45 is aimed at the law enforcement market and the civilian self-defence market. To the average civilian, being able to conceal your gun is vital, as well as draw speed. The M&P 45 compact is quite a small size pistol and is easy to conceal.

For ease of draw and draw speed however, the ideal types would be pocket, OWB and IWB holsters. Ankle selections will hamper draw speed. With shoulder ones, to conceal the gun you will need to wear a jacket.

But a jacket will hamper the ease of draw and draw speed. For the larger M&P 45 medium and full sized pistols, OWB and pocket holsters will give you the ease of draw that you need, but concealing these larger weapons is more difficult. For the larger pistols, opt for IWB´s.

REVIEW – 5 M&P 45 HOLSTER OPTIONS

We look at 5 of our favorite options for the M&P 45 in finer detail below. We examine how well each one will fit the M&P 45, how much it cost and how good the comfort is when you have to wear it for long periods of time.

BlackHawk CQC SERPA – Carbon Fiber

Click on image to go to Amazon

This M&P 45 holster is made from durable carbon fiber. It features Blackhawk’s patented SERPA Technology lock. This is a lock that means that this requires no thumb break to keep the gun in place. Instead, the lock automatically fires when the gun is placed into the case, keeping it secure and safe from falling out.

When it comes to drawing your weapon, there is a lever situated where your trigger finger would naturally fall when unholstering. This means that unlocking and drawing the weapon can be achieved in one smooth action. This M&P 45 holster also comes with a paddle attachment as well as a belt loop, depending on preference. The belt loops feature swivel buckles which means greater flexibility.

The fit is perfect for the full-size M&P 45, it’s slightly too large for the medium size, but you should be able to get away with it. It is far too large for the compact size. Main issues for this selection is that, as it is made from sturdy materials, bending over or sitting down can cause discomfort at the sides.

If you are planning on wearing this when you are likely to be sitting down for long periods, then this one is not suitable. Also, it tends to ride low, so it can be difficult to conceal without a jacket or coat.

Fobus Standard RH Paddle Lightweight 2oz, Low Profile Paddle Right Handed. Rubberized paddle

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is an over the waistband M&P 45 holster made from injection molding and high density plastics. Fobus make a range of these holsters which are designed for maintenance free ownership. Unlike those made of leather, there is no break in period, need to oil, or allowing it to breath.

It also means that these are incredibly light, at only 2 oz. This option rides high, which means great concealment with a jacket. However, like most OWBs, it is difficult to conceal with just a t-shirt. There is a huge angled ridge on the back of it, which is quite clever in that the ridge catches on your belt or waistband, eliminating any chance of the sheath being removed when the gun is unholstered.

Unholstering itself is simple; just twist it forward before pulling up. There is also an adjustable retaining screw, so a user can tighten or loosen the retention to suit their specific needs. This is a comfortable M&P 45 holster, with some users saying it is comfortable even when placed against skin. Regarding fit, this is a small one and fits the M&P 45 compact perfectly.

It is too small for the medium size, although some may be able to use it if they twist the retention screw to completely loose. It is definitely too small for the full-size M&P 45.

Outbags OB-30SC Nylon OWB Belt Gun with Mag Pouch

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is a over the waistband M&P 45 holster made from 600 denier nylon, and comes with a handy magazine pouch, a removable steel belt clip allowing mount to waistband or belt, and a belt loop for those who require a more secure and permanent mount to belt.

It features a fully adjustable thumb break, which keeps the weapon secure as well as removing any delay when drawing your weapon. Most Outbags holsters have their webbed spine feature, which ensures that this will bend into a customized fit for each user. This makes this M&P 45 holster very comfortable to wear.

It is a snug fit for the M&P 45 compact and, with the velcro retention straps, can be adjusted for length and angle to suit the user. However, this holster is far too small for the M&P 45 full size and medium size.

FoxX Holsters Smith & Wesson M&P Compact 9 mm, 40, 45 In The Waist Band Hybrid Holster

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is hybrid, in the waistband M&P 45 holster made of premium leather and Kydez, a thermoplastic. It comes with spring steel belt clips to clip on securely. The main draw of this product is how easy it is to conceal your pistol whilst also being incredibly comfortable, with some users stating they actually forgot they were wearing it. This is due to the extra high leather tabs, which keeps the rear of the pistol from digging into your skin.

The major issue seems to be the actual steel clips, with many users stating that they slip, slide around, and are generally not sturdy enough to hold the sheath securely, causing the product to ride up. This can be sorted out by buying Kydex clips, but it seems a shame that they are not included with it instead of the steel clips. The draw is smooth and fast, but generally requires a certain amount of ‘break in’. This is to be expected with all leather selections.

As advertised, this is snug, perfect fit for the M&P 45 compact, but far too small for the medium and full size versions.

FoxX Holsters Smith & Wesson M&P Full size In The Waist Band Hybrid

Click on image to go to Amazon

An identical M&P 45 holster to the fourth option on the list, this is for the full size M&P 45. Just like the compact M&P 45 holster, this one is also incredibly comfortable to wear, has a quick and smooth draw, once holster is ‘broken in’, and makes concealing these pistols easy.

Typically, the main complaints with this product is not the sheath itself, but the steel clips. Again, replacing them with Kydex clips will eliminate the problems. Strangely enough, some users have stated that the leather tabs do not cover the beaver tail of the full size M&P 45. This means that, for anyone who is not slim and may have a bit of a paunch or love handles, the tail may dig in to your body, causing discomfort.

It seems that, despite it being advertised as suitable for the full size version of the M&P 45, it may be better suited to the slightly smaller medium size version.

OUR TOP M&P 45 HOLSTER PICK

We have done a detailed review of each of the products, so now we can compare them to each other to see which one would be the best choice for the M&P 45.

The BlackHawk CQC SERPA is made from carbon fiber, and the draw is smooth and fast due to the patented SERPA Technology lock. There are issues when it comes to comfort, but this is when sitting down or bending over. When upright, this M&P 45 holster is very comfortable. A perfect fit for the M&P 45 full size, it is, however, a little too large for the medium size version, and definitely too big for the compact size. Concealment is good, but requires a jacket or coat for full effect.

The Fobus Standard RH Paddle is made from injection molding and high-density plastics and is a very comfortable M&P 45 holster. Concealing the weapon is easy with a jacket but, as with most OWBs, difficult in lighter clothing. With the adjustable retaining screw, users can loosen or tighten the hold to their individual preference, which means a smooth and fast draw can be achieved. A great fit for the M&P 45 compact version, but likely to be too small for the medium size, and much too small for the full-size version.

The Outbags OB-30SC Nylon OWB Belt Gun is made from 600 denier nylon and is very comfortable due to its webbed spine feature, which molds itself to each user perfectly. The draw is fast and smooth with the fully adjustable thumb break, and it is concealable. It is a perfect snug fit for the M&P 45 compact but is far too small for the M&P 45 full and medium size versions.

The FoxX Holsters Smith & Wesson M&P Compact In The Waist Band Hybrid is made from premium leather and Kydex, and comfort when wearing is unsurpassed. As with all leather products, drawing can be difficult until the stiff leather ‘gives’, but this is to be expected. Within a few days of holstering and unholstering, this one should give the perfect, smooth draw. As advertised, it is made for the M&P 45 compact and fits it just right. Naturally, it is too small for the medium and full-sized M&S 45’s.

The FoxX Holsters Smith & Wesson M&P Full size In The Waist Band Hybrid is identical to the compact M&P 45 holster version and is also made with the same leather and Kydex mixture, with the same ease of draw (after break-in period), and unsurpassed comfort when wearing. It fits the medium and full-size version of the M&P 45 snugly. The only concern is that an overweight person may find that the full-size M&P 45 will dig into their sides a little.

Which product would we choose?

Our joint winners are the FoxX Holsters, both the compact and full size versions.

With many users saying they cannot even feel the sheath and pistol when wearing, and at the same time being able to hide their weapon so well, no other one can beat them, regardless of whether you have the full size, medium size or compact version of the M&P 45.

There is the small issue with some overweight users finding the full-size M&P 45 digging into their sides, but the BlackHawk CQC SERPA, despite being more expensive, cannot alleviate this either. For all sizes of the M&P 45, the FoxX M&P 45 holster is the best.

BERETTA PX4 STORM – KEEP THIS IN MIND

Beretta Px4 Storm

Before jumping in and looking in detail at some options, let us first have a look at the Beretta PX4 Storm pistol to see which holsters might be relevant and which might not.

The PX4 Storm itself, comes in 3 different sizes (full, sub-compact, and compact). Each have slightly differing sizes and weights, which will be important to note when you look for an option.

Weapon Size and Weight:

The Beretta PX4 Storm Full has the following measurements:

  • Length: 7.55 in (192 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 4 in (102 mm)
  • Width:1.42 in (36 mm)
  • Height: 5.51 in (140 mm)
  • Weight: 27.7 oz (785 g)

The Beretta PX4 Storm Compact has the following measurements:

  • Length: 6.8 in (173 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 3.27 in (83 mm)
  • Width:1.42 in (36 mm)
  • Height: 5 in (129 mm)
  • Weight: 27.2 oz (770 g)

The Beretta PX4 Storm Sub-Compact has the following measurements:

  • Length: 6.22 in (158 mm)
  • Barrel Length: 3 in (76 mm)
  • Width:1.42 in (36 mm)
  • Height: 4.8 in (122 mm)
  • Weight: 26.1 oz (740 g)

As you can see, the full version is a medium to large sized pistol, whereas the compact and sub-compact are smaller pistols. Your choice of Beretta PX4 Storm case option will depend on the size of PX4 Storm pistol you choose.

Weapon Use

The Beretta PX4 Storm is designed to be used for law enforcement use and self-defence. For self-defence carry, the best options are going to be over the waistband holsters (OWB) and inside the waistband holsters (IWB). For anyone needing to carry their weapon securely whilst also being concealed, an IWB is perfect. Although shoulder options can conceal this pistol, it involves you wearing a jacket at all times, not ideal in warmer seasons and climates.

The compact and, even more so, the sub compact PX4 Storm are more easy to conceal, and can be used with pocket  and ankle (as well as standard shoulder selections, OWB and IWB selections).

Detailed Review 5 BERETTA PX4 STORM HOLSTER OPTIONS

There are 10 options listed in the comparison table above for the PX4 Storm, but we want to have a closer look at 5 of the top ones. We want to have a look at how well the holsters are made, how comfortable they are, how well they fit the PX4 Storm and how good the value for money is.

Blackhawk SERPA Level 2 Matte Finish 410528BK-R

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is a high quality Beretta PX4 Storm holster made from ridged plastic that has just the right amount of give. There is no middle finger release or thumb break, which means lightning fast draw. It has a full firing grip for draw and an immediate retention system upon reholster, which gives you piece of mind that you can move about without your pistol falling out. The speed cut allows you to draw faster as well as making re-holstering the pistol easier.

It also has a built in tension spring which holds your magazine in place and will support a variety of magazines. It comes complete with belt mount and paddle attachment. For versatility, the belt clip can be removed to allow placement on a dual rail accessory platform. And it will also attach to shoulder harnesses or drop leg platform with Picatinney Rails

One slight disadvantage is that this Beretta PX4 Storm holster is too big by about 2 inches for the PX4 Storm compact models; they won’t go all the way to the end. Therefore, this one is more suited to the full size PX4 Storms.

“The Intimidator” – Belt and Clip on by Pro-Tech

Click on image to go to Amazon

This a great, entry level Beretta PX4 Storm holster. It is ambidextrous, so can be placed to left or right depending on user’s preference. It also has a plastic adjustable spring action thumb break and boasts durability with strong nylon stitching (pressure points are double stitched) , an outer layer of cordura ballistic nylon, and a vinyl vapor lining which keeps moisture away from your gun. All edges are turned under to prevent any fraying. Comes complete with an extra magazine pouch on the front of the sheath.

Disadvantages to this Beretta PX4 Storm holster are there it can be a little bulky and therefore hard to conceal, especially with the extra magazine pouch. Also, a number of people have mentioned that, although the metal belt clip is tight, the piece it attaches to is not very durable, which means that your pistol eventually leans away from your hip and catches on objects. This also can make it difficult to carry your weapon concealed.

Gould & Goodrich B803-PX4 Gold Line Three Slot Pancake (Black) Fits BERETTA PX4.

Click on image to go to Amazon

This Beretta PX4 holster is made from top grain genuine leather that has been vegetable tanned. It has deep definition molding and sits rather high on the waist, which is perfect for concealed wear. Can be worn tilted or straight up. With it being leather, this one does need to be broken into, and it can be difficult to get your pistol in and out of it initially. But minimal use is all that is required to break it in.

This Beretta PX4 Storm holster is ideal for the compact model; most other options tend to be too big for the PX4 Storm Compact. Many people have mentioned that this holster feels as luxurious as other options worth 3 times as much, so this is definitely one for those who like a touch of luxury.

Outbags OB-29SC Nylon OWB Belt Gun Holster with Mag Pouch

Click on image to go to Amazon

It is made from 600 Denier Nylon, which makes it durable and light-weight. It is not as pretty as the leather selections or as “tacti-cool” as the injection molded options, but it gets the basic job done.

If you are a lefty, you will be happy to know that this option comes in left hand and right hand draw versions. It has the basics of fully adjustable thumb break, magazine pouch, belt loop and a steel belt clip. If you wanted to, you can remove the steel belt clip.

Important to note is that this is a fit for the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact. If you have the full size PX4 Storm, this will probably not fit.

As usual with the Outbags options, this one has a webbed spine to allow for it to shape itself to your body shape. However there have been complaints about the Velcro on it causing some discomfort when it moves around. Some folks also complained that the steel clip is perhaps a little too stiff.

Some folks also noted that you cannot grip the gun until it has been removed from it. This is due to the fact the sheath seems to cover the top inch of the pistol, where you have the front of the grip.

This is probably best suited as a belt to carry your gun to the gun range to. For an everyday carry sheath that is comfortable, we would probably look at some of the other options.

OutBags OB-16SC Nylon OWB Belt Gun with Mag Pouch

Click on image to go to Amazon

This Beretta PX4 Storm holster is almost identical to the Outbags OB-29SC, and made from 600 denier nylon with a fully adjustable thumb break, belt loop, Steel Belt Clip and standard magazine pouch. The only difference is that it is slightly bigger, so would fit the full size Beretta PX4 Storm, whereas the OB-29SC is more suited to the Beretta PX4 Storm Compact.

Some disadvantages to this Beretta PX4 Storm holster that have been highlighted by some users are the steel belt clip not being very sturdy, with one user claiming that it broke after using it twice, and another user claiming the clip ripped the stitches from it when he was attempting to clip it onto the belt.

Also, this has the same disadvantage to the OB-29SC, in that it covers the top inch of the pistol and a user is unable to grip the gun whilst it is sat in the case. Quick draw is almost an impossibility. However, the Outbags range appears to be a good entry level Beretta PX4 Storm holster.

Which BERETTA PX4 STORM HOLSTER CHOICE Do We Choose?

Now that we have looked at each of the five options in detail, we can compare each of them against each other to see which one would be the best choice for our needs.

The Blackhawk SERPA is made from ridged plastic and is comfortable to wear. It’s real advantage is the lack of thumb break, which means drawing your pistol is easy and fast. But this is strictly for the full version of the Beretta PX4 Storm, as it’s size means it is far to large for the compact and sub-compact version, and may impact on how secure these smaller pistols feel on it.

The Intimidator by Pro-Tech is made from nylon and plastic and fits all sizes of the PX4 well. Although comfortable to wear, some users have found it rather bulky and difficult to conceal. Also, the spring action thumb break can cause difficulty in drawing your weapon.

The Gould & Goodrich Pancake is made from top-grain leather and is very comfortable to wear, with many users saying the feel was ‘luxurious’. It’s also very easy to draw your pistol from this option, and it’s compact size makes it ideal for the compact and sub-compact versions of the Beretta PX4 Storm. This option is likely to be far too small for the PX4 full size version.

The Outbags OB-29SC OWB is ideal if you just want an affordable and sturdy option that can take some punishment. It is best is suited for compact and sub-compact versions of the PX4 Storm. While the webbed spine helps for comfort, it is not the best one for comfort due to some design features. It is probably a good choice for occasional use to carry your weapon to the gun range etc, but probably not ideal for everyday carry.

The OutBags OB-16SC OWB is identical to the OB-29SC model, but is designed to fit the larger Beretta PX4 Storm Full size.

So which Beretta PX4 Storm holster option would we choose?

For the full size Beretta PX4 Storm, it has to be the Blackhawk SERPA Holster. It looks great, is comfortable to wear, and also offers a very fast draw. For the compact and sub-compact versions, it has to be the Gould & Goodrich Pancake, with it’s luxurious leather and ability to fit these smaller pistols.

If, on the other hand, quick draw is unnecessary for you, and you mainly need a case for concealed carry, then the Outbags models are good, inexpensive choices.

Wrapping Up – WHAT IS THE BEST BERETTA PX4 STORM HOLSTER OPTION?

Have you used any of the options we looked at above? We know there are other great options for the Beretta PX4 Storm holster out there, and that we only looked at 5 of them in detail. So if you have some thoughts about others that you would recommend, let us know about them and tell us why you think those are great choices.

Below we look at 5 great options that you can consider if you are looking for a holster that would fit your SIG P238. We looked at options that will functional, concealable and provide value for money.

Ultimate-Suede-Leather-IWB-Holster

Click on image to go to Amazon

This suede holster is designed to accommodate smaller .380 caliber handguns for concealed carry such as the Ruger LCP. It's also serviceable for use as a SIG P238 holster.

Manufactured by American Craftsman, its makers guarantee a "lifetime warranty" with this product. It is designed to fit directly inside of the waistband and has no accessories with the exception of an attaching clip. Users can remove this clip and replace it with another, but are warned that the overall snug fit of this holster may make this difficult.

This holster comes in both a left and right handed version. Potential buyers are warned that because of the popularity of this particular holster, right handed versions of it are difficult to keep in stock. In addition to working well for a Ruger or as a SIG P238 holster, this product accommodates models such as:

  • SIG Sauer P238
  • Colt 1908 .25 caliber
  • Glock G43

This holster's snug fit doesn't accommodate smaller handguns with features like wider slides or accessories like lasers. There have also been multiple issues with this holster's soft leather construct. The main one concerns the holster's collapsing after drawing, meaning that pieces can't simply be reholstered easily and quickly. The soft leather causes the magazines of some gun models to "pop out" when holstered. And the leather of this holster can significantly "bleed" when new, damaging clothing.

On the plus side, this holster is comfortable to wear for extended periods (with the exception of driving), is not bulky and does not cause the finish to wear down on some guns as other holsters do.

DeSantis Superfly Sig 238 Ambidextrous Black

Click on image to go to Amazon

Our next contender is this offering from Desantis. This holster is designed to be placed within and drawn from a pocket. This holster can be placed in front or rear pockets.

The cloth construct of the holster has been "rubberized" to give users a holster with a rigid and friction free drawing action. This holster is designed for either right or left handed use. It has a covering flap which can be removed. However, guns are visible under certain kinds of clothing if the flap is not used.

This is a snug fitting holster that does not accommodate wider slides or laser sights. In addition to working well with a .380 Ruger or as a SIG P238 holster, this product also accommodates the following gun models:

  • SIG Sauer 938
  • Colt Mustang
  • Colt Pony

Most complaints with this product deal with its effectiveness as a pocket holster. A number of purchasers say that the product doesn't fit in certain style pockets very well. There have been isolated reports that this holster pulls completely free of pockets when the user is trying only to remove the piece.

Other users have had an opposite experience with the Superfly as a pocket holster, singling out its rubberized surfaces as an especially good pocket grabber.

Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Holster

Click on image to go to Amazon

Shooters looking for a holster with adjustment options that don't interfere with overall safety might want to consider this offering from Concealment Express.

This is a three ounce concealed carry holster designed to be worn on the waistband under an untucked shirt. The holster is constructed from a proprietary material called .08î KYDEX. In addition to wicking moisture away from pieces, this material allows the holster a fifteen degree range of adjustment motion. Be aware though that this product is available for right handed use only.

This product is designed and appropriate for use as a SIG P238 holster only. It will not accommodate other SIG Sauer models or related accessories. The manufacturer has stated that they plan to introduce a more accommodating holster of similar design in the near future.

Users of this holster have reported issues with the secureness of its waistband clips. There have also been problems with adjusting this holster's range. It's challenging for some users to do while wearing the holster. Incidents have also been reported of screws popping out of the holster while this adjusting is being attempted.

This holster is another one of the options on our list that is very comfortable to wear for extended periods, and is extremely difficult to see when worn for concealed carry.

Alien Gear Holsters Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB Holster

Click on image to go to Amazon

Our candidate here for the best P238 holster is an Alien Gear waist band concealed carry product that won a recent industry award as one of the best of its type. While this product does have its detractors, it also has a number of promising features.

The Cloak Tuck has been designed to have "zero break in time", meaning that this holster can be worn for extended periods right from the start! It utilizes a combination of nylon, plastic and steel for an adjustable retention fit, in addition to two retention clips. It's also possible to remove the main part of the holster and use the product's belt base as a retainer for the piece.

Because of this product's many moving parts, it comes with spare screws and a tool to adjust it. In addition to a lifetime warrantee, the company offers clients a "thirty day ride" which allows dissatisfied customers an opportunity to return the product. This holster can also accommodate the following gun models:

  • M&P .40
  • Ruger 9 mm
  • Ruger SR9c

It is not a perfect holster though. There have been multiple issues with this holster disintegrating after just a few months of use. Screws popping out are the main issue. And while this holster has won much praise for comfort, shorter individuals sometimes find this holster uncomfortable to wear for extended periods.

But this holster appears to be comfortable for the majority of its users to wear for extended periods. Its double clip also gives this holster a secure fit and many users will appreciate its multiple adjustment options.

GVN Ankle Holster Adjustable Elastic Concealed Ankle Carry Gun Holster

Click on image to go to Amazon

The only ankle holster in our list, this product is constructed with "breathable" Neoprene and has an attached magazine pocket.

The holster can be rotated for both left and right handed use. It can also been worn on both the outside and inside of either the left or right leg. This is also the only holster reviewed here that can accommodate shields and laser sights. Users doing so are warned that this may cause the holster to sag and shift, however. In addition to serving as a SIG P238 holster, this product also accommodates the following gun models:

  • Ruger LCP 380
  • Sig P238
  • S&W M&P 9 mm
  • Glock 26
  • Glock 27
  • Glock 30
  • Kimber Solo
  • And some Taurus models.

The holster is inadequate to fit the needs of individuals with heavier or larger legs. There have been numerous complaints from users about this holster's fasteners as well. The Velcro used here wears out in as little as a week of normal use, leaving wearers with no alternatives.

Velcro issues aside, the overall design of this holster is good. It's practical and easily accessible and the fabric used in its construct does prevent sweating.

Wrapping Up

As we get ready to crown the best SIG P238 holster winner, there are some key factors to consider in choosing a concealed carry holster:

  • Does the holster disguise the firearm?
  • Is the holster comfortable to wear for extended periods?
  • Does the holster protect the user and bystanders from dropping and unintended discharge?

Price and the option of using the holster for more than one gun are other factors users consider important in choosing a holster.

While this review considered a range of concealed carry holster types (waistband, pocket, ankle), all five were comfortable for extended wearing with a firearm in place. Only the SIG IWB holster caused some discomfort while driving, and then only after extended periods of it.

Unfortunately, all of these holsters have design or manufacturing issues that could lead to safety problems for the unwary. These range from "clip failures", to guns popping out of holsters unintentionally, to hardware issues. While one of the first rules of concealed carry is to not draw attention to concealed firearms, users are reminded to conduct frequent "fit checks".

OUR TOP CHOICE

We had to buy a holster today for the SIG P238, it would be the Alien Gear's Cloak Tuck holster. It wins overall for design, materials used, comfort, ease of use, and adjustability.

And given that the manufacturer includes spare screws to make emergency holster repairs, it's at least partially acknowledging design and safety issues. Hopefully these problems will be corrected in future generations of this holster, making it an even better option for those who wish to carry concealed.

Bersa 380 Holster – A List of 5 Holsters To Fit Your Bersa

Bersa 380 - KEEP THIS IN MIND

bersa 380 holster

When you are looking for a Bersa 380 holster, you should be aware of what exactly your needs will be. Do you want to carry concealed? Or do you perhaps want to be able to comfortably carry for long periods of time? To be able to answer that, we first need to look at the Bersa 380 and see what we are working with.

Weapon Size and Weight:

The Bersa 380 has the following measurements:

  • Weight: 20 oz (560 g)
  • Length: 6.61 in (168 mm)
  • Barrel length: 3.54 in (90 mm)

It is clear that the Bersa 380 is as a small sized handgun. Small guns are great for concealed carry and a lot of folks would perhaps even carry it as a back-up weapon. As such there are a wide variety of holsters available to you, such as pocket holsters, ankle holsters or even shoulder holsters. Below we look at 5 options that we really like.

Our 5 Top Picks For Bersa 380 HOLSTERS

Below we look at 5 holsters that are available on Amazon. We look at the materials that the holsters are made from, the comfort of how it is worn, how it fits the Bersa 380, and how easy it is to draw your weapon from the holster.

Here are our top holsters:

Fobus Standard Holster RH Belt BS2BH Bersa Thunder 380 / Firestorm .380 Cal

Many firearm users like leather holsters for their "authenticity", their durability, and their looks. But while leather holsters certainly provide all of these, they have their drawbacks as well. Such holsters "sweat" leading to shrinkage, and they require regular maintenance as well.

Forbus offers a solution to these issues with this holster. Unlike a leather one, it requires no special maintenance. It can be cleaned with simple soap and water. It holds up well when exposed to severe weather elements. And it's easier to draw a firearm from this holster rather than a leather one because this holster has a patented passive retention system.

The only contact that the firearm has with the holster is where the piece's trigger guard touches the holster frame. It should be noted that there have been complaints from users unfamiliar with Forbus products about excessive tightness around the trigger guard, making it difficult to draw the piece initially. However, all Forbus products have similar tightness in this area, which can be reduced with the application of sandpaper and/or oiling upon purchase.

Drawing and reholstering pieces repeatedly after initial purchase is also effective in reducing this stiffness. It should be noted that this product is intended to be a .380 holster, worn with a fairly wide and sturdy belt to support it. While some Bersa users report using this holster model for concealed carry or waistband wear, this should not be done for support and safety reasons.

Fobus actually made a video that shows how to break in your Fobus holster correctly:

OUTBAGS USA OB-02SC Nylon OWB Outside Pants Carry Holster w/ Mag Pouch

Our next competitor for the best Bersa 380 holster is another inexpensive alternative to leather from the manufacturer Outbags. This holster's construct is largely nylon, which gives it a denim-like appearance. The holster has both a belt loop and a steel belt clip. Aside from an adjustable thumb brake, this is a fairly "frills-free" holster. As advertised, it does have a small attached magazine clip.

Its nylon material requires only soap and water cleaning, but this may not be the best holster for severe, all-weather use. The holster is adjustable, and can fit the frames of other basic .380 caliber models, such as a Browning. However, it is unable to accommodate models with attached lasers or tactical lights. The interior of this holster is padded, which helps to preserve finishes.

Best use of this holster is probably at indoor gun ranges, or to store pieces. There have been some complaints from users about rapid deterioration of this holster when exposed to the sun for extended periods. Issues have also been reported about the magazine pouch and belt loops ripping loose with extended use, though both remain serviceable if sewn back on by users.

The holster has been used for concealed carry. However, concealed carry wearers should be aware that this holster is fairly bulky under clothing, and that its nylon construct can snag on some clothing materials. This holster comes in both a left and right handed model.

Galco Waistband/Inside The Pant Holster for Bersa Thunder 380

This holster is offered by gun leather manufacturer Galco, and was specifically designed for Bersa Thunder use. It can be used for other Thunder caliber models such as the .22, but users should be warned that it will not fit other .380 frames, including Bersa ones. While this Bersa 380 holster is designed for the Thunder, users need to be patient, follow directions, and plan to leave their guns untouched in the holster for several days, which allows the holster to stretch to the Thunder's shape.

Maintenance is typical for leather holsters. The design is sturdy and durable, and it holds up well in all types of weather. This holster also suffers the same issues as other leather holsters reviewed here. This holster's clip is made from plastic rather than metal, which some users find aids in ease of putting on/taking off, and adjusting the holster.

This holster is intended for concealed carrying of the Thunder, but it's fairly shallow concealment. The only real complaint about this holster concerns its restraining strap, which some users find quite stiff and difficult to use. This Galco holster comes in both right and left handed models.

Concealed In-The-Pants/Waistband Holster Fits Bersa Thunder 380, Thunder 9, Thunder 45 From Ace Case

This Bersa 380 holster is a popular and inexpensive holster produced by Ace Case that certainly gets the job done as a concealed carry holster. It's not bulky, and its sturdy clip and contoured fit mean that unlike other holsters reviewed here, it won't give you away under clothing.

This holster also has a bit more give to it then some other holsters described here, meaning that it can accommodate more model types. Its nylon and "faux" leather construct also mean that this won't be a "forever" holster.

Buyers should note that some users have complained about the holster's large retaining clip. Some feel that it makes the holster uncomfortable to wear for extended periods, while others have found that inattentive wearing can cause the clip's metal to rip through fabric and even upholstery. This holster offers ambidextrous use.

Barsony Brown Leather Pancake Holster for 380 and Small 9mm 40 45

Barsony's "pancake" style Bersa 380 holster will fit several other ultra-compact makes. However, this holster itself is very compact, so users should be warned that it will not accommodate all other similar models, even Bersas if they happen to have tactical light attachments.

This holster is conveniently light, which makes it a good concealed carry choice. It's suitable and easily accessible for non-concealed carry wear as well. The holster is of a leather and hand stitched construct, and will have the attendant leather maintenance needs.

However, because of the leather's suppleness out of the box, buyers will find that this will not require immediate attention. There have been some user complaints about both the holster's snap and retaining strap not functioning properly. This model is for right-handed use only.

OUR TOP Bersa 380 HOLSTER CHOICE

It should be noted that these Bersa 380 Thunder holster reviews were conducted with the assumption that Bersa 380 Thunders were what potential buyers would be using the holster for. While some of the holsters have more give than others, none of them work particularly well for non-380 models, and even then, users should consider a firearm's frame size before purchase.

It should also be noted that none of these holster types are appropriate for pieces with tactical lighting. Also, stiffness with a new leather holster is a given, and users should note that holstering issues because of this weren't considered as part of these reviews.

Restraining strap and snap problems described here appear to be user issues. But if a strap or snap isn't cooperative for individual users, it's not a safe or effective holster for them, so users with gripping or dexterity issues should take note of complaints here concerning the Barsony and Galco models in particular.

Which Holster Would We Choose?

In terms of price, ease of immediate use, and durability, the winner is the Ace Case holster. Users should keep an eye on its knife-like clip, however.

And in terms of wearing comfort, versatility, and durability, the all-around winner is the Barsony pancake holster. As with all leather holsters, users should accept that it may not be immediately wearable. But for those willing to apply some elbow grease and patience, this is an affordable, well-made, and very wearable holster than can last for decades.

Which HOLSTER OPTION Would YOU Choose?

We assume that if you are reading this article, you are on the market for a new holster for your Bersa 380. So which holster would you pay good money for? Or do you think there is perhaps another holster that is not on our list, which is a better choice? Let us know what you think, we would love to hear from you!

Glock 26 Holster – 5 Holsters For Your Glock!

Glock 26

glock 26 holster

When choosing a holster for your Glock 26, you need to remember that all guns differ when it comes to size, weight and functionality. So below we look at the dimensions of the Glock 26 to help us figure out which holsters might be a good fit.

Weapon Size and Weight

The Glock 26 has the following measurements:

  • Length: 6.49 in
  • Barrel Length: 1.26 in
  • Width: 1.18 in
  • Height: 4.17 in
  • Weight: 21.71 oz (unloaded)

You will notice from the dimensions we described above that the Glock 26 would fall into the small size category of guns. Therefore it is reasonably easy to conceal, and thus IWB holsters, ankle holster and shoulder holsters will be ideal for this weapon.

Detailed Look at 5 GLOCK 26 HOLSTERS

From the 10 holsters that we listed in the table above, we chose 5 to have a closer look at. We look at specific aspects of the holsters, namely how good the fit is for the Glock 26, affordability, comfort and how well it is made.

Concealment Express IWB KYDEX Holster

Many individuals looking for a good holster are looking for a type that will allow for concealed carry where permitted. This company actually specializes in products that permit this, and while this product is very much limited to being just a Glock 26 holster, it's safer than more "versatile" holsters that cater to Glocks and similar brands, and holds up well. Because of this holster's hard plastic construction, it doesn't "wear".

This is good news in terms of lack of excessive stretching, but it can make for some initial discomfort in wearing this, especially if the wearer is carrying concealed all day. Its "ungiving" design also means that the wearer must wear a wide belt with large loops to accommodate it. The innate rigidity of this holster also serves a second purpose. It makes wearing that Glock 26 considerably safer. Like many other Glocks, this model lacks a safety feature.

The Kydex's design means that the weapon can be attached (and removed) from the belt without having to actually holster and unholster the weapon. Wearers report comfort wearing this weapon in the one, two, three, and four clock positions. Its visibility is minimal when wearing concealed-carry, and its hard plastic design makes for minimal maintenance.

It also makes for this holster's largest complaint. Its design does not allow for similar firearm brands to be carried, including most other Glock (it can accommodate a Glock 23, generations three and four) models. This holster is for right-handed use only.

Blade-Tech Industries Klipt Glock 26 IWB Holster

Another rigid holster, this Klipt model can be worn comfortably seated in the front, or worn on the hip. Its thin design is comfortable, and provides the wearer with a very low profile. Unlike the Glock model described above, this holster has a built-in trigger safety guard. And like the holster described above, wearing this Klipt requires a wider belt.

The plastic used in the construction of this Glock 26 holster is light, reducing sweating, but this holster's design is noticeable under clothing in terms of concealed-carry. This holster design requires some force for firearm withdraw. Like the holster described above, this model is limited to only a couple of Glock brands, specifically the 26, and generations three and four of the Glock 23. This holster is for right-handed use only.

Desantis Pro Stealth Holster For Glock 26/27

This imported holster is nylon in material. This is a tough, heavy-duty fabric, and is the same type of nylon holster material used by some law enforcement and military branches. This holster is not designed to be worn on a belt, but inside the pants.

It comes with a tough metal clip for this purpose, and should be worn with comfortable, closing fitting trousers or shorts. Using the clip, it is also possible to wear this holster on the exterior of clothing. This Glock 26 holster can also be used for a limited number of similar firearm brands, such as some Ruger models. The holster is light and comfortable to wear.

Despite its synthetic material, the Pro Stealth holster holds up well over time, and can be laundered if necessary. Only minor complaint reported from users is the degree of concealment that this holster offers. This appears to be correctable, however, with adjustment of the fastening clip. This holster is appropriate for both right and left-handed use.

BlackHawk Serpa Sportster Paddle Holster Glock 26, 27, 33

It would seem at first glance that this product would be a good choice as a nominee in our Glock 26 holster contest. Blackhawk is a respected firearm manufacturer, and its Sportster can accommodate models beyond just the Glock 26. But the Serpa style of holster is an increasingly controversial one, with some gun clubs and shooting ranges now banning use of it outright for safety reasons.

There have been repeated incidents of self-inflicted shooting injuries when careless (but not inexperienced) users have accidentally squeezed the trigger when attempting to release safety guards on a holstered piece.

Other complaints about this holster include its bulk (quite visible when carried concealed), its weight (heavy), and the fact that "tabs" on the non-detachable paddle mount can snag on clothing. On the plus side, firearms can easily be holstered and removed from this product, and when the firearm and holster are used prudently, this product's trigger guard is an effective safety mechanism.

This holster holds up well, requires little maintenance, and comes in a choice of two colors, black, or "gun metal" gray. Despite its name, it can be used with various lower model Glocks, such as a 16 or 19, and some Sig owners have claimed that this holster works well with that firearm, too. Its hard plastic material wears well and requires no maintenance. It's appropriate for right-handed use only.

Galco Waistband Inside The Pant Holster for Glock 26, 27, 33

This product is our only Glock 26 holster manufactured largely from leather. While leather is an excellent holster material, it can be subject to both stretching and shrinkage, and fares best with minor maintenance, such as cleaning and oiling. As a leather product, it should be noted that this holster is not a die cast for a particular firearm model, but must be worn in the holster continuously (usually several weeks) to mold it into the shape of the piece.

The leather material makes it comfortable for extended concealed-carry wear, and this holster has limited visibility when worn in such a manner. Largest complaint about this Glock 26 holster is its thumb restraining strap. While it works well as a restraint, some users find it awkward to manipulate. Restraint strap also can cause some finish wear on certain models of guns. This holster uses a plastic clip which holds up well.

The holster can accommodate various models of Glocks in addition to the ones listed above. This is also a good model for some Smith and Wesson makes, but owners of similar guns, such as Sigs, claim that this holster is too small to adequately hold their pieces. A left-handed version of this holster is available upon request.

OUR TOP GLOCK 26 HOLSTER CHOICE

In reviewing these products and considering which one could be best considered the best Glock 26 holster, the following criteria were applied to all models:

  • safety (retention of gun within holster)
  • ease of use (this includes "dominant hand" options)
  • ease of wear (this includes concealed-carry wear)
  • price

It should be noted that all holsters reviewed here are at least adequate in performing the essential function of a gun holster. And with two manufacturer exceptions, all holsters are made from the same molded, hard plastic.

These plastic based holsters, the Kydex, the Klipt, and the Serpa, may make unholstering and holstering a piece easier without removing the holster. These manufacturers and some users claim that this also improves the drawing speed of users, although there is no data to substantiate this. These plastic holders also require no maintenance.

While the Kydex and Klipt are fine for those preferring this type of holster, safety issues have arisen in the case of the popular Serpa. Its profile and design have led to multiple accidental self-shootings as users have attempted to disengage the holster's safety guard, and have squeezed the trigger instead. While some ranges consequently no longer allow this particular holster to be used at their facilities, the manufacturer has no current plans to issue a recall or redesign it.

Users thus should use extreme caution in holstering and unholstering this otherwise perfectly fine product. Users of this type of plastic holster should note that they can be both uncomfortable and visible in terms of concealed carry wear. This type of holster is also limited in the types of pieces that it can accommodate.

The softer Calco and Desantis holsters require some minor cleaning and maintenance, but hold up well. There have been some complaints that the leather Calco in particular doesn't "fit" pieces, but that is generally resolved by a couple of weeks of wear, allowing the leather to stretch.

Which holster do we like the best?

Our choice for the best holster for the Glock 26 is the Desantis Pro Stealth Holster. Soft, light, and adjustable, this holster has sufficient support for extended wear, and an adequate restraint system to insure safe wearing and piece drawing as well. Optional hand use and position wearing also make this practical holster the user's best choice for a variety of scenarios.

WHAT IS THE BEST HOLSTER FOR THE GLOCK 26 IN YOUR OPINION?

Ruger LCP 380

Ruger LCP ankle holster

When choosing a Ruger LCP ankle holster there are a few things you need to keep in mind as firearms can be different when it comes to functionality, weight and size. All that will determine whether you will be able to carry concealed, OWB or perhaps even using a shoulder holster.

Weapon Size and Weight:

The Ruger LCP 380 has the following measurements:

  • Weight: 9.4 oz (270 g)
  • Length: 5.16 in (131 mm)
  • Barrel length: 2.75 in (70 mm)
  • Width: .82 in (21 mm)
  • Height: 3.6 in (91 mm)

Taking the dimensions listed above into consideration, it is clear that the Ruger LCP 380 is a small gun. That means that there are a wide variety of holster types available to you. Of course, this handgun is ideal for concealed carry.

OUR REVIEW OF 5 RUGER LCP ankle HOLSTERS

Below we look at 5 ankle holsters for the Ruger LCP that are available on Amazon. We look at the materials that they are made from, the comfort of how they are worn, how they fit the Ruger LCP 380, and how easy it is to draw your weapon from them.

Elastic Wrap Ankle Holster For Ruger LCP

Click on image to go to Amazon

This model is made for the Ruger LCP. It has a four inch surgical grade wrap around style and can be worn on the inside or outside of the ankle. We love that it is made in the United States and that it will remain on the leg without much slipping.

Other benefits include that it is moisture resistant, lightweight, it is fully lined, and it has a snap release thumb break for a positive draw. The only drawback is that people that use this product need to wear long socks with it to prevent the inside of the holster from irritating their skin.

Galco Ankle Lite/Ankle Holster for Ruger LCP, KEL TEC P3AT, P32

Click on image to go to Amazon

The Galco is made of the finest materials that are presently available on the market. This durable and high quality product is used by law enforcement, the military, and private citizens as well. The wide neoprene ankle band and Velcro closure allows for a person to wear it comfortably with security that cannot be found in any other alternatives. The additional comfort comes from the padding that is made of sheepskin that is located between the holster and the ankle.

It is also easy to quickly draw a gun with the assistance of the reinforced thumb break retention strap. A customer has the option of purchasing the adjustable calf strap that is sold separately. However, the calf strap is not required for proper use.

This model accommodates ankles up to thirteen inches in circumference and is designed for semiautomatic pistols and double-action revolvers. The Ankle Lite is also offers the options of right or left hand draw and black or khaki finish. We could not find any drawbacks of this Ruger LCP ankle holster as all that have purchased love their Ankle Lite.

Outbags OB-31ANK Nylon Neoprene Ankle Holster for Nylon OWB Belt Gun Holster for Ruger LCP, S&W Bodyguard 380, Walther PPK/PPK-S, Beretta 3032, and More

Click on image to go to Amazon

One of the benefits of this Outbags model is that it may be mounted on either the right or left leg so it can be positioned towards the hand that will be drawing the gun. Since it is made from the same material as wet suits and scuba gear, it is designed to be very durable and hold a lot of moisture as well.

We truly love the other benefits that this Outbags offers. They include: a four inch wide ankle strap that is made from neoprene that will not stretch like elastic straps always do, an adjustable one inch strap that will keep a pistol in its place, and it fits ankles ten to thirteen inches in circumference. The last benefit that we truly love is that it is made in America in Southern California.

This product is not only durable, but it also has a downright low price. When it comes to a drawback, the only one that we could find is that it is not meant for small people because it will slide down on them. However, it does mention in the description what size ankles it is designed for. Therefore, people purchasing this Ruger LCP ankle holster should not be surprised by this.

OUR TOP RUGER LCP ankle HOLSTER CHOICE

We reviewed five excellent options, all with their own individual assets and strengths. All of them can either be worn on the right or the left ankle. The Elastic Wrap Ankle Holster and the Outbags holster are both made in America. We think that this is wonderful because some of our fellow Americans are part of the process of making these holsters.

They make a living making these products and that helps our economy as well. All of the options are designed for comfort and to keep a gun in place. Some of them also come with additional padding to ensure extra comfort. Therefore, a person that purchases them can wear them for a long amount of time without having to be concerned about whether the gun will stay in place or not. They are also good for those people that have wider ankles due to them having an adjustable strap.

Which holster do we like best?

We have found a lot of bonuses that come with each one of these choices listed. They are all designed for comfort and to be worn for a long amount of time. One of them is even designed to resist moisture which is ideal for people that will be using their weapon in hot and/or wet environments.

After comparing all five of the models, we believe that the best option of the five is the Elastic Wrap Ankle Holster for Ruger LCP. Along with the comfort and ability to be worn for an extended period of time, it resists moisture, is lightweight, and it is also fully lined. The snap release thumb break allows for a gun to be drawn perfectly. It also is made from a four inch surgical wrap around style.

A person that wears it also has the option of wearing on the inside or outside of the ankle. We personally love that it is made in America by Americans. That is wonderful for our economy and helps keeps our citizens employed.

For these reasons, we believe that the Elastic Wrap Ankle Holster for Ruger LCP ankle holster is the best of these five holsters that we recently reviewed and would recommend it to anyone that is in need of a long lasting and durable holster.

What Is The Top Kahr PM9 Holster? We Pick Our Choice!

Kahr PM9

kahr pm9 holster

When choosing a Kahr PM9 holster, you need to keep in mind the functionality, weight and size of your pistol. The pistol, and how you plan to carry it, is the deciding factor to picking the holster that is best suited for your needs.

Weapon Size and Weight:

The Kahr PM9 has the following measurements:

  • Length: 5.42″
  • Barrel Length: 3″
  • Width: 0.9″
  • Height: 4″
  • Weight: 14 oz

When you look at the dimensions listed for the Kahr PM9, it is clear that the PM9 is a small sized handgun, which will be ideal for concealed carry. The holster options that will be generally available for this handgun will include inside the waistband (IWB) holsters, shoulder holster and ankle holsters.

OUR REVIEW OF FIVE Kahr PM9 HOLSTERS

Now that we know what holster types would be appropriate for the PM9, we can take a detailed look at five solid holster options below.

Black Arch Holsters ACE-1 Gen 2 (Hybrid Holster)

The Black Arch ACE holsters are, according to the company, precision moulded and built by hand. In our opinion, the new ACE-1 Gen 2 certainly reflects that statement, in that it is one of the most comfortable and complete holsters we’ve come across, and it’s a perfect fit as a Kahr PM9 holster. They’ve taken extra care in perfecting the retention and adjustability aspects, and have also ensured a tight, comfortable fit. It is virtually unnoticeable when secured, and even on a smaller built person, it remains discreet and snug.

Price wise, it comes in significantly cheaper than most competitors. The Kevlar stitching and high quality leather gives it a very sophisticated look, and reflects what a quality product this clearly is. Besides being an ideal Kahr PM9 holster, it is also available for over 200 various handguns, and is also available for both left hand and right hand holster preferences. We couldn’t find any detractors regarding this holster, and considering the price, comfort and quality finishes, this is highly recommended as a holster for the Kahr PM9.

Super Fly Pocket Holster, Ambidextrous, Black

The first thing we noticed about the Super Fly was the sticky rubberized fabric, which is apparently unique to the brand. It’s extremely viscous and provides great hold. It will come out of your pocket easily when you need to put the gun back in, but doesn't come out when you draw the weapon. It also has a removable, reversible outer flap which disguises the firearm extremely well. We can certainly verify that this holster will absolutely not move out of position in your pocket when used as a Kahr PM9 holster.

This is a near perfect holster for the Kahr PM9 and is well made, with heavy stitching and good texture. It completely concealed our Kahr PM9, and the adjustable flap makes sure that the outline of the firearm cannot be seen, giving only the impression of a wallet or similar shaped item being carried in the pocket. Wearing cargo pants or loose fitting jeans, this holster fits perfectly and allowed us to carry without being obvious. Anyone who favours the slightly tighter or skinnier trouser types might find that the adjustable flap does cause bulkiness though.

Sliding your hand in your pocket will slip in between the flap and the holster, and the trigger guard is completely covered by the holster to keep your hand off the trigger. When you draw the weapon, the holster is held in your pocket by the tab on the bottom. All in all, this is a great Kahr PM9 holster, and we highly recommend it.

Galco Ankle Lite (Ankle Holster)

Ankle holsters are not for everyone, and it is certainly one of the least popular holster types. The Ankle Lite holster uses a wide Neoprene ankle band and Velcro closure, with Center Cut Steer Hide, which certainly makes for a very secure fit around the ankle.

The sheepskin padding between the holster and ankle adds a very welcome comfort factor, and the speed of the draw is incredible due to a reinforced thumb break retention strap. It is also very easy to adjust the tightness around the leg. It is important to note, however, that you definitely want to get the calf strap, which is an optional extra. Without the calf strap, the holster begins to slide down the leg as you are walking around and puts pressure on the ankle bone as well as cause the holster to ride on the top of your shoe or boot. It will stay up an inch or so off your ankle for a while, but over time it will ride down.

We started it on the top of our shoes, and made sure to wear longer pants to conceal it, which works to cause it to go unnoticed. With the calf strap attached, however, the holster doesn’t shift, even when wearing it on the inside of the ankle and performing various physical activities, including riding a motorcycle. This is the perfect ankle Kahr PM9 holster, but only with optional extra calf strap, which does add to the cost, and in our view, should come as standard.

Foxx Holsters Waistband Hybrid Holster (Concealed Carry Gun Holster)

This holster is designed for ‘in the waistband’ concealed carry (IWB). The Black Spring Steel Belt clips can be adjusted for height and cant, which makes it extremely versatile and fully adjustable. As a Kahr PM9 holster, we found that the body shield covers the slide of the pistol very well, with no sights or corners poking in the side. The holster is also cut to allow you to get a solid grip on the Kahr PM9. The clips can be pulled away slightly from the holster to allow you to tuck in a shirt, which we found to be a very useful feature. The fit, form, and function are great. It is also comfortable when sitting down.

We found that wearing it at the 3 o'clock position is great when walking or standing most of the day, and wearing it closer to the 4 o'clock position is better when driving or in the sitting position. The retention is very strong, but still allows for an easy draw and reholster. We did find that the inner lip of the leather is a bit harsh on the skin, and when the front clip is at the top position, it extends slightly past the leather, and has a tendency to pinch the skin.

This is an acceptable holster option, but bearing in mind one or two comfort issues, there are certainly better options available.

Galco Stinger Belt Holster

The Galco Stinger is a simple belt slide holster, and we found it to be very lightweight and a fantastic holster. The smooth finish not only looks good, but also allows clothing to drape over without hanging up and sticking onto the holster. It features a classic belt slide and can fit belts up to 1-1/2 inches wide. Some thinner belt wearers might prefer the stability and firmness that comes with fitting it onto a thicker belt, and we certainly felt that the thicker the belt, the firmer the fit. Either way, the thin leather of the Stinger took up virtually no space behind or around our belts.

The Stinger’s open top design afforded easy, one-handed drawing and re-holstering of our Kahr PM9, definitely the most effortless draw of all the holsters reviewed here. The Stinger did hold the Kahr PM9 at a slightly forward cant, which, while handy for a fast draw, may be unnecessary for a small firearm such as the Kahr PM9, which can function just as well with a straight drop holster. Galco also make the stinger for other handguns, including larger pistols though, so the forward cant is understandable. With great looks, and a very reasonable price, we can highly recommend the Stinger holster.

Which holster would we choose?

Seeing that these five holsters are all very different in terms of the functionality and usage, choosing one favourite is not an easy task. Necessity dictates the form and function needed, and these five holsters all have different benefits as holster options for the Kahr PM9.

The Black Arch Holsters’ ACE-1 Gen 2 Hybrid is an extremely versatile and comfortable Kahr PM9 holster though, and also includes some of the most beautiful finishes we’ve come across. It ticks pretty much every box we have, and if we were forced to choose one, this would be it.

Wrapping Things Up – WHAT IS THE BEST Kahr PM9 HOLSTER OPTION?

If you have to pick a holster from the list of holsters above, which would you pick and why? Or have you perhaps already used any if the holsters listed before? If you have some thoughts that you would like to share, please feel free to comment in the comments section below!

Walther PPK Holster Options To Fit Your Walther PPK

Walther PPK - What You Need To Know

walther ppk holster

If you want to buy a holster for your Walther PPK, you need to know how you plan to use the weapon. Do you want to carry concealed? Do you need to wear the holster for long periods of time? To be able to make an informed decision, you need to know the key dimensions of the Walther PPK.

Weapon Size and Weight:

The Walther PPK has the following measurements:

  • Length: 6.1″
  • Barrel Length: 3.3″
  • Width: 1.0″
  • Height: 3.9″
  • Weight: 20/21 oz

The measurements of the Walther PPK tells us that the PPK is a small to medium sized gun. This gives you a lot of holster options to choose from. Due to the size of the PPK, concealed carry is a popular option, so you can look at inside the waistband (IWB) holsters, shoulder holsters, etc.

5 Walther PPK HOLSTERs Reviewed

To figure out which holster is really the best choice for the Walther PPK, we need to take a detailed look at each Walther PPK holster option. For each holster we want to find out how good the value for money is, does it fit the Walther PPK really well and is the holster well suited for everyday carry.

DeSantis Sof-Tuck PPK/PPKS Right Hand Tan

We start off our review with this leather holster from Desantis. Desantis is one of the better known holster brands and are known for making quality holsters.

This particular Walther PPK holster option is made from a nice suede leather. The top of the holster is made from reinforced saddle leather to enable a smooth and easy draw.

This is a really good option to consider if you are thinking of carrying concealed, as the holster sits close to your body and does not have a significant print. Do not worry about an uncomfortable carry, as the soft suede leather ensures that there is no skin irritation or chaffing from the holster sitting so snug against your body. Just keep in mind that the suede leather will absorb moisture, so if you sweat a lot it could get a little smelly.

You can adjust the cant of the holster to suit your carrying preference, so the holster sits just right for your draw technique.

The downside of having a suede leather holster is that maintenance and cleaning is not so easy. You cannot exactly just wipe it clean with some soap and water!

Another thing that we are not crazy about is the fact that the holster does not have a thumb-break or retention system to keep the gun secured in the holster. If you are carrying inside-the-waistband, then this should not be much of a problem.

Fobus Standard Holster RH Paddle PPKE2 Walther PPK WALTHER PPK/S FIREARMS

If you want a hard shell holster that is designed to be worn comfortably for long periods of time, then you should have a look at this holster from Fobus. Fobus is an Israeli company that manufactures holsters for military and law-enforcement use.

As is typical from Fobus, this is a holster made from high density injection molded plastics. While the Desantis suede leather holster above is difficult to clean, this holster just needs some soap and water to get rid of dirt! You also do not need to spend any time breaking in the holster, like you would need to with a leather holster.

Thanks to the paddle that the holster comes with, this is a very comfortable holster to wear if you need to carry for a long period of time. It is also very light, so it won't feel like you are dragging around a rock on your hip.

This is an over the waistband (OWB) holster and has a distinct print, which means this holster is not ideal for concealed carry.

Another common feature of Fobus holsters is their retention screw system, which you can use to adjust the retention of the holster to your liking. Just be aware that the holster comes from the factory with the retention screw already a little stiff, so you will need to adjust it once you receive your holster.

Holster for Walther PPK & PPK/S with built-in Magazine Pouch

Looking for a simple holster that can take a beating, but that does not cost you an arm and a leg? Then this holster might be the option that you are looking for. It is made from Nylon, so it is durable but affordable.

It does not have many fancy features, basically it has an extra magazine pouch and a thumb-break to keep your gun secured in. The thumb-break is positioned to be over the hammer, rather than the grip. This makes for a better and easier draw.

The holster has a multi-layer Nylon construction, which is intended to mold itself to the shape of your gun. The soft lining also means you do not have to worry about your gun getting scratches when you holster it.

This is a simple work-horse type of Walther PPK holster option. It is ideal if you just want a holster to carry your gun in when you go to the gun range, but want a holster that you can rely on to get the job done.

OUTBAGS LOB3S-PPK Black Genuine Leather IWB Conceal Carry Gun Holster for Walther PPK 380 & PPK/s 22LR

This holster from Outbags is a handcrafted from quality leather, and made in the USA. Unlike the Desantis suede leather holster, this holster's leather is hardened and cured so that the holster keeps its shape. It is also easier to clean as it is not suede and has a coating applied to it.

This is a inside the waistband holster, so if you are looking for a good concealed carry option then this is definitely a holster you should consider.

Overall this is a well made holster that will give you value for your money. If you look after it, it will serve you well.

Some folks have pointed out that the steel clip of the holster is very stiff, making it quite difficult to easily and quickly take the holster off if needed.

If you are left-handed, you will be glad to know that his holster is also available in a left-hand option.

Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard Holster

This holster is probably one of the nicer holsters on our list of Walther PPK holster options. It is made from top quality leather and has double stitching, which means this holster should last a really long time and serve you well.

Thanks to its adjust cant and how high it rides, draw for this holster is really good. Thanks to the molding of the holster and its retention system, your gun will stay nice and sure when it is holstered.

If you want a top quality holster for everyday carry that is comfortable, then this is definitely a holster you should consider. It is not the cheapest holster on our list, however it is affordable when you keep in mind the quality of the holster that you will be receiving.

OUR TOP Walther PPK HOLSTER CHOICE

As we can see from our detailed look at the Walther PPK holster options, there are some great options to pick from. But how do they compare to each other?

The DeSantis holster is a well made holster constructed from nice suede leather. Carry is comfortable thanks to the suede, but that the suede also makes maintenance and cleaning a bit more difficult than would be with the other holsters on our list.

The Fobus Standard Holster is a over the waistband holster, so not ideal if you want to carry concealed. It is made from high density plastics, which makes it rugged and tough. It also means that it is very easy to clean with some soap and water. Fit for the Walther PPK is really good as the holster is specifically molded for the shape. The adjustable retention screw allows you to adjust the holster to your liking. The paddle it comes with allows for comfortable carry.

The Federal Holsterworks holster is a no-frills holster with not too much fancy features. It has an extra pouch for a magazine. It is made from Nylon, which makes it durable but also affordable. If you just want a regular holster to carry your holster in when you go to the gun range, this is perhaps a really good option to look at.

The Outbags leather holster is a nice little leather holster that is designed for inside the waistband carry. It is well made and should give you excellent value for money if you look after it.

The Desantis Thumb Break Scabbard holster looks good, smells good (when it is new of course) and is well made. It is constructed from quality leather and has double stitching to ensure durability

Which Walther PPK holster option would we choose?

For us, we would want to carry the Walther PPK concealed. For that reason it would probably be between the DeSantis Sof-Tuck or the Outbags leather holster. Both are well made quality holsters that are designed to be IWB holsters. But if we had to choose between the two, the DeSantis Sof-Tuck would be our choice due to the soft suede leather for the extra comfort, and the adjustable cant options.

Wrapping Up - The BEST Walther PPK HOLSTER OPTION

Did the review of the holsters help you to find a holster for your Walther PPK? We know we all have different preferences and needs when it comes to holsters, so we know that what we think is great might not be so great in your opinion. But that is okay, because that is just how things work. If you want to tell us what you think of any of the holsters, drop us a note in the comments section below.

OUTBAGS LOB2S-G30 IWB Conceal Carry Gun for Glock 29 G29 10mm / Glock 30S

Click on image to go to Amazon

This is a genuine all leather product. It is designed for inside the waistband (IWB) carry. The leather has been cured and hardened to retain it's shape. The stiffer leather lends a secure sleeve, however it may be not be the most comfortable product to have against your waist.

This Outbags type is a good choice for the price point, but we found it to be lacking some of the features that make a carry option the most comfortable and adaptable. It can not be used outside the pants or in the small of the back, and you are limited in retention adjustability. The all leather surface which includes the side against your body is prone to some warping from body heat and perspiration. But the hand crafted leather does feature a hand dyed finish to preserve the natural leather characteristics.

The stiffer leather does make it a bulkier bulge in your waist band. But it has a complimentary contour to fit the Glock well and allow for respectable ease of withdrawal. And the Outbags durability scores well in its favor. It features an extra protective coating layer to preserve it's finish.

This is a nice Glock 30S holster option if you just want a nice, decent quality leather option that will do the main job of carrying your Glock.
